Sources for federal spending, securities filings, and higher-education statistics.

## SEC EDGAR

- Company facts and filings are available as JSON from `https://data.sec.gov/` (for example `/submissions/CIK##########.json`). Send a descriptive `User-Agent` header with a contact address, or requests are refused.
- Regulation Crowdfunding offering data is published as quarterly datasets under [sec.gov/dera/data](https://www.sec.gov/dera/data). County-level questions need the issuer address fields joined to a county lookup.

## USAspending

- API root: `https://api.usaspending.gov/api/v2/`. Treasury account and federal account endpoints return obligations by fiscal year.
- Fiscal years run October to September. State the FY explicitly.

## OMB SF-133

- Reports on budget execution are published by OMB as spreadsheets by agency and fiscal year. There is no JSON API; record the file name and the sheet you used.

## IPEDS

- The [IPEDS Data Center](https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/datacenter/) provides institution-level tables. Complete data files are CSVs per survey and year; variable names change between years, so cite the dictionary.
- Do not paste IPEDS tables into this wiki as encoded chunks. Link the file and summarize.
